Our Shared Vision
We believe in a future where integrity and forward-thinking leadership define our community. Our values are the foundation of every decision we make, ensuring a robust and equitable environment for all.

Our Vision & Goals
We are committed to building a more equitable and resilient future for our district through bold, data-driven policy initiatives.
Strong Public Schools
Invest in the schools that serve our children.
Public education is the foundation of our communities and our state. I will continue fighting for strong neighborhood schools, responsible investment, meaningful accountability, and the resources students need to succeed.
Literacy for Every Child
Every child deserves the power to read.
Literacy opens the door to every other part of education and life. We must ensure students receive strong literacy instruction and educators have the training, tools, and support to help every child become a confident reader.
Fair & Equitable Funding
A child’s ZIP code should never determine their opportunity.
Michigan must fund schools based on the needs of the students they serve. I will advocate for an education funding system that invests fairly in every child, especially those who need additional support to thrive.
Teachers & the Educator Pipeline
Recruit them. Support them. Keep them.
Our educators are the heart of our schools. Michigan must build a stronger pipeline into the profession while improving the conditions that encourage talented teachers and school staff to stay.
Student Success & Opportunity
Open doors. Expand possibilities.
Every student should have access to rigorous academics, career and technical education, STEM, the arts, dual enrollment, skilled trades, and pathways to college and careers. We should help students discover what they can become, not place limits on their potential.
The Whole Child
Students cannot learn if they are not supported.
Safe schools, mental health resources, nutritious meals, positive relationships, and strong social-emotional support all matter. We must educate the whole child.
Strong Governance
Ensure that our board operations are transparent and focused on results.
We must lead with integrity, making decisions that are data-driven and always prioritize the welfare of students, educators, and the community at large.
Every Student Belongs
Disability should never become a barrier to possibility.
Students with disabilities and students facing difficult circumstances deserve dignity, inclusion, stability, and meaningful opportunity. I will continue advocating for the services, resources, and support families need.
Technology & Expansion
Empower students through digital innovation and infrastructure.
Modern education requires modern tools. We will advocate for investments in technology, broadband access, and updated facilities that ensure our schools remain competitive in the digital age.
Safe, Welcoming Schools
Every child deserves to feel safe, respected, and valued.
Our schools should be places where children can learn without fear of violence, bullying, or discrimination. We can create safe and welcoming schools while respecting the dignity of every student and family.
Community Engagement
Strong schools start with strong community voices.
We advocate for open, two-way communication between the state board and local families. By listening to parents and community leaders, we ensure that educational policies truly reflect the needs of those we serve.
Leadership Through Collaboration
We do more when we work together.
The challenges facing Michigan’s students are too important for any one person, organization, or system to solve alone. I believe in bringing educators, families, communities, businesses, non-profits, labor, higher education, and government to the table to find solutions that work.
Different perspectives do not have to divide us. They can make our solutions stronger.
